My Outsunny Polycarbonate & Pop-up Gazebos Reviews
[toc]Outsunny 3x3m Gazebo Review (Curtains & Nets)
This Outsunny 3x3m polycarbonate gazebo is a relatively lightweight gazebo for one with such a reputation for strength and sturdiness.
The aluminium uprights are powder-coated to ensure excellent support to the roof section by preventing rust from forming around the vertical supports.

This is paramount to the longevity of this type of product. Further up, the roof section has polycarbonate panels which are held in place by an aluminium frame section.
The panels are good at letting natural light into the sheltered area whilst protecting against UV rays.
Concerns about the strength of polycarbonate panels are not necessary because polycarbonate is 10 times stronger than glass and won’t shatter.
Features
Polycarbonate roof panels
The roof panels are extremely strong, do not shatter and are x10 stronger than glass, however, there are many more benefits of polycarbonate panels.
Polycarbonate panels provide UV protection to your guests and help prevent skin damage but also help to prevent your outdoor furniture from bleaching from the sun.
Includes curtains & bug nets
It’s all very well having protection against the sun and rain but one of the biggest problems during the summer are mosquitos and other flying insects.
These types of creatures are normally attracted by either the heat from our body or the sweet smell from our drinks or snacks.
The mesh nets can be closed to prevent these types of bugs from entering and biting or at least upsetting a few people underneath.
The curtains are ideal for extra privacy especially in the evening as the lights go on and it illuminates your gazebo and attracts mosquitos but also nosey neighbours.
Walk-in Height
There’s little more annoying than having to keep ducking as you enter an outdoor shelter, especially if one of those time after a few drinks you forget… ouch!
The walk-in height is 2 metres which cater to the height of most people. If this is still a problem then you may just need some smaller friends… just kidding!
Sturdy frame
Trust me, this gazebo is another animal once it’s built and installed properly in your designated area.
It can be a little tricky to assemble and the instructions aren’t fantastic but as the Outsunny brand of outdoor gazebos is so popular there are lots of assembly videos to view on youtube.
Outsunny 4.3×3.6m Patio Gazebo Review
This much larger Outsunny gazebo is perfect for those of you with bigger families, large gardens and is ideal for hosting parties with lots of guests.
Spanning an area of 15.48 sq metres it demands quite a lot of spare room in your garden, patio or hard-surfaced area.
This permanent gazebo is relatively straightforward to build, however, as you can imagine with so many large sections to connect you’re going to need the help of a couple of friends.
Once it’s assembled it is the centrepiece of any garden and will be a talked-about feature by all of your friends and family.
The entire gazebo can be left outdoors all year round with the roof left on, however, it might just pay you to remove the side curtains and mesh nets.
The sides and nets may become damaged in strong winds and heavy rain. It’s preferable to take them down and it’s very simple as they’re both on individual rails.
Features
Everything Included in the package
Unlike lots of other outdoor products, with this product, you will receive everything you need to have a first-class relaxation area.
You will receive tough and durable polycarbonate roof panels that will slot into an aluminium roof frame, 4 uprights that are powder-coated to maintain their strength and durability.
Curtains and bug nets are included, together with the rails that they hang from with handy ties that enable you to tie them back and around the uprights in warm weather.
There are 8 stakes to anchor the gazebo securely into the ground to provide extra stability.
Polycarbonate Roof Panels
If you have doubts about the strength and longevity then I can quickly put that to rest…
Polycarbonate is x200 more resistant to impact than glass. It’s much lighter too which makes handling easier and places less pressure on the aluminium that holds it in place.
The polycarbonate panels are also great at providing consistent lighting as it can act as a sun shield in bright sunlight whilst also letting in plenty of natural light in duller conditions.
Polycarbonate also provides UV protection.
Dimensions of this Gazebo
The length is 4.3 metres and the width of the gazebo is 3.6 metres which provide 15.48 sq metres in total.
The walk-in height is 2.05m which is 7ft 1inches, therefore, it should mean that not a single one of your guests will have to duck underneath the sides to enter into the gazebo.
The highest point of the gazebo itself (apex) is 2.65 metres and the product weighs 52kg.
Easy to Clean Frame & Material
Should the gazebo or the curtains become dirty then both are relatively easy to clean.
The side curtains can be machine washed on a very cool wash and depending on the size of your machine I would personally wash 1 side at a time in the drum.
The frame itself can be wiped down with hot soapy water to remove any dirt or bird muck that may have soiled the framework.
Should you need to wash the roof panels it’s normally best to get a soft-bristled yard brush, some washing up liquid and a hosepipe.
Simply throw some warm soapy water onto the roof, gently rub the roof with the long soft brush and then hose down with fresh water until the soap has disappeared.
Outsunny 3x3m Patio Hardtop Gazebo Review
This large hardtop gazebo makes the perfect addition to your entertaining accessories – family BBQs, garden get-togethers or just relaxing by yourself…
Aside from being obviously spacious, the gazebo is made with a durable aluminium frame and roof which can withstand even harsh weather conditions.
No longer will rain be an issue when entertaining outdoors. What’s more, this guarantees the long life associated with this product.
Entertaining is nothing with a good ambience so the addition of a hanging hook for a lantern or light means that this will be easily achieved.
This Outsunny 3 x 3 delivers just as much on strength and stability as it does on aesthetics. As aluminium is lightweight, erecting the gazebo won’t be back-breaking.
Features
Rust Resistant Frame
The whole point of installing a gazebo in the first place is to ensure that everyone is sheltered from the elements – sun, heat and more importantly – rain.
However, this can lead to the components becoming rusty, but not in the case of this one.
The durable steel hardtop and rust-resistant frame give you the confidence that, no matter what the weather, the frame will remain fully functional and undamaged by rust.
Includes Double-Lined Curtains
The thick, double-lined curtains are ideal for added privacy should your outdoor space be overlooked. But they serve an additional purpose besides.
The curtains are fully weather resistant, further adding to the longevity of the product and they feature a handy mosquito net to prevent those irritating bites.
Furthermore, the curtains come in useful for blocking out the elements avoiding intense sun exposure which can be damaging to the skin.
Install Lighting for those darker nights
One of the best features of this product is the simple addition of a lighting hook which allows you to create a unique environment for your social gathering.
What’s more, should your party go on into the small hours, you won’t be left squinting to see your guests with the light from your lantern or outdoor string lights.
Easy to Clean Frame
Is there anything more annoying than having to deep clean something that has spent a lot of time outside and seemingly getting nowhere fast?
This problem is easily resolved when cleaning and maintaining the Outsunny 3 x 3 thanks to its easy-clean and wipe down design.
Outsunny Pop-up Gazebo 2x2m Review
This small Outsunny waterproof gazebo (2x2m / 6x6ft) is ideal for the garden to use during the spring and summer months when the weather is pleasant.
Whilst, this is a strong gazebo for regular use, it is not suitable for leaving outdoors overnight.
The concertina frame (pop up) makes it so easy to build and pack away then there is no real reason to leave it built overnight outdoors.
As mentioned, the concertina frame is quick to build especially if you have a friend to help you lift it off the ground and stretch it out.
As you can see in the image, this gazebo comes with 4 side panels that include 2 sides that have a window each and 2 full-length doors or wall sections.
Both full doors/walls can be tied back with the attached ties.
Package Includes
- Water-Resistant & Rust Resistant Canopy.
- 2x2m Concertina style pop up frame
- 4 side walls (x2 windows – x2 full doors/walls)
- Carry Bag
- Rope and Stakes
- Portable carrying bag.

Features
Easy to Build
One of the great aspects of owning a concertina gazebo or pop up gazebo as they’re more regularly known is that they’re really simple to build and takedown.
To build, all you have to do is remove it from the bag, ask a friend to lift the legs slightly off the ground and both of you walk backwards to stretch the frame out.
Once the frame is extended out, attach the canopy with the velcro straps to the top section, then lift up the frame legs and click them into one of the 3 height settings.
Good Value
Bearing in mind everything that is included, the strength and level of water resistance then this Outsunny pop-up gazebo is well worth the money paid for it.
With all the accessories that are included you would expect to pay twice the price that you will be paying on Amazon should you decide to purchase this product.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can a Pop-up gazebo be used during the winter?
In our opinion, this gazebo should not be used during the winter.
The manufacturer says it can be used during wintertime but to be perfectly honest, we do not think it could withstand snow load on the roof or up to 40 mph winds.
Is this Pop-up gazebo easy to take down?
To take it down is basically a reversal of how you put it up in the first place.
One good thing is that you can leave the canopy attached to the roof section instead of removing it before you place it in the storage bag.
How long will this gazebo last?
You will get 2/3 years of regular use out of it but you must not leave it outdoors overnight as this can rapidly decrease its durability and therefore, longevity.
How do I clean the canopy?
You may find that the roof section begins to get dirty or covered in leaves. If this happens just wipe the canopy with warm water but do not rub or use fairy liquid.
Using detergent on the canopy or scrubbing will significantly decrease its level of water resistance and UV protection.
Outsunny 2.7×2.7m Lightweight Canopy Review
This old fashioned type of connecting pole gazebo is perfect for those of you that have a low budget and looking for a disposable, single-use gazebo.
Your expectations need to be realistic and sensible considering the price.
Do not to expect it to be able to last for years to come and protect you against every monsoon going, it isn’t going to happen with this product.
What this Outsunny canopy can do is protect you and a few guests from the odd spot of rain as long as it’s nothing more than light drizzle and not for too long.
It can also be used to provide shade to grass, patio or other hard surfaces and has a set of tent pegs and guy ropes to help hold it down.
These anchors (pegs and ropes) MUST be used at all times as they provide extra support to the frame section. This canopy is actually a good buy if used sensibly
Package Includes
- Powder-coated steel connecting frame poles
- Water-resistant PE Canopy roof
- Durable PP connectors for poles
- 4 x Guy ropes
- 8 x Tent pegs
- Full instructions
- All necessary assembly parts
There are no anchor weights provided. I don’t recommend buying any because they will cost about the same as the canopy and they won’t make the frame any stronger.
Pros and cons
Things I Like...
- Really low price
- Can protect against UV rays
- Ideal for sunny days
- Very easy to assemble
- Protects against light rain
Not so good...
- Do not use when breezy
- Do not leave built overnight
Features
Simple to connect together
This isn’t a pop-up gazebo and therefore, assembly is required to build this canopy, although, it is extremely simple to put together.
Instructions are provided but to be honest you’ll only need to read them once at the most.
Pegs & guy ropes included
This canopy is very light and requires the guy ropes and tent pegs included to help hold it down. They should be used no matter what the weather is.
Anti UV canopy
This canopy can offer protection against UV rays which makes it ideal to use to provide a shaded area in the spring and summer months.
It’s still advisable to wear sunblock to help ensure full UV protection whilst outdoors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are the canopy and frame windproof?
No, not at all. This is a very low priced canopy that is intended to be used to provide shade during hot weather.
It will not hold up in anything more than a light breeze so caution is advised against using it when windy.
How much does it weigh?
The entire package when delivered to your door weighs a little over 5kg. This is extremely lightweight and reaffirms my advice against using it in bad weather conditions.
Does it come with a bag?
Unfortunately, for those of you that intend to get regular use out of it then it will mean storing it in the cardboard boxes that it comes in (2).
At this kind of price, you really can’t expect a bag to be thrown in too.
